Kickin' Ass

Hey All! I just read a great article by Creating Passionate Users

I've been kickin' ass lately and I like it. You may want to read this article over at "creating passionate users". Sierra over there is a gifted and insightful communicator. She explains that "being better is more fun". And
The more knowledge and skill someone has, the more passionate they become, and the more passionate they become, the more they try to improve their knowledge and skills.
I think she is calling this state of being "kicking ass". And doesn't it make sense.

Somepeople might thinking of kicking ass in terms of fighting or winning a game (ie. The Spurs just kicked the Pistons ass... ) But you can also kick ass at work. Doesn't it feel like you are a ninja sometimes when you are clearing your desk at the end of the day? You are kicking ass! When you are riding your bike up the hill at it feels flat, like you are flying up the hill - YOU ARE KICKING ASS!

This is a state of passion that Sierra talks about - What she is trying to explain in her blog and what she is trying to achieve in her books.

"learning and growth is the key component" of kicking ass / passion. And it seems true. Don't you love it when you master a new trick on the snowboard? Or when you use that new game in the classroom and it works? ... Getting better at something is the key.

So let's get better at something today. Can you get better at eating ice cream and watching Star Wars DVDs? Well, I'm going to find out. I might try some honey topping on the ice cream. Cheers!

PS: I just sold the TV and dumb-bells. I'm sort of sad to see the dumbbells go.
